God is in Control

God Is in Control

by:Twila Paris

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination
Don't lose the vision here
Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why start to worry now?
He is still the Lord of all we see
And He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me
I just love the lyrics to this song and in light of all the changes in our government, it is SO comforting to know that man can make plans that we might not agree with and that may even scare us, but the underlying truth is
GOD IS IN CONTROL
Nothing that happens on this world has taken Him by surprise
I love the words in Proverbs
"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord. He turns it wherever He wills."

I struggle with worry. It is the one sin that besets me the most and that I need to pray for victory over the most.
Mainly, I worry about my children or husband becoming sick or dying unexpectedly. I know its wrong and I try every day to remind myself to think on things that are TRUE,LOVELY,etc...
So what a HUGE truth for me to remember that God is in control. He has purposes and reasons that I may not be able to understand or see, but He is sovereign and I can TRUST him!

  1. Chas, now that I have Annaleigh, I can COMPLETELY relate to you! I need victory over worry as well. I have terrible nightmares and horrible daydreams of unimaginable things happening to Annaleigh. Then I begin to cry as the thought of Michael dying and not being here to see his daughter grow up or take care of me. It's SO hard to not let those thoughts consume you!! I will pray for you! I constantly have to remind myself 'what is true?' And the answer is always, "God is too wise to make a mistake, too loving to hurt me on purpose, and too sovereign to not be in control."
