Denver Art Museum

We had such a fun family day at the Denver Art Museum's FREE day!
Thankfully, it wasn't crowded at all and we enjoyed spending the day together.
They do FREE days the first Saturday of the month.
This is the first time we have taken advantage of it and it will not be our last.

The coolest thing about the museum were these backpacks that you could check out. They included puzzles, crafts, cool games that all had to do with the exhibit. It was awesome and the kids just loved it! We can't wait to go back and try more of them.

Days 9 and 10- Mark builds homes in Kisii and travels to Kitali/ Swimming, Dinner with friends, Botanic Gardens, Sleepover at Grandparents, Movie time with the girls

Mark has been busy. The team built houses on Thursday. It is hard work and usually takes all day. I cant wait to see pictures! Today, they traveled to Kitali where the orphanage is that they will spend a few days in. He said a road got flooded so the traffic was VERY bad!
It took the bus a long time to get there.

Thursday was a nice relaxing day. Grandma and Val came over with a little girl she was babysitting to go swimming.  The kids had a blast:) Thursday night, Ashlie and Tytan came over for dinner and after dinner, Ella got an eraser stuck up her nose. I had to use tweezers to get it out and it was WAY up there! I was pretty happy that I saved us a doctor visit.

Today, we went to the Botanical Gardens.
It was fun to walk around and look at all the beautiful flowers.
I went a little camera happy:)

And we finally got Cotton's nails clipped. It was about time. The kids were so nervous for him and it took like 2 minutes. Poor Cotton was a bit traumatized, I think.

Tonight, Grandpa and Grandma invited the kids to spend the night and I was able to go see a movie with friends. It was so much fun and I am so thankful for their kindness in taking all 4 kiddos!
The kids were very excited when he pulled up!

Horse Show Fun

About a month ago, a sweet family in our church gave us tickets to see the Westernairre show.
The riders are mostly all teenagers- pretty impressive.
It was super cool- lots of horses riding fast and lots of tricks.
The kids did great for the 2 hour show and sat thru the whole thing. There was so much going on that it was hard not to pay attention. My favorite was the battle reenactment that they performed- complete with infantry and indians. It was very loud.
I would do this again in a heartbeat.
Next time, I would try to get there early and get seats in the upper rows. It was hard to see over the fence. And of course, as we were leaving the girls told me they want to learn how to ride a horse!

This parade is by far my favorite parade in CO:) It takes place in Littleton right around the time school starts and is so family friendly and has lots of western flair- particularly TONS of horses. Its cool. We have gone ever since arriving in CO. They have lots of booths set up which are fun to browse. The girls got face painting at one booth and this lady was AMAZING! It was also free which was a huge plus!

Our dear friends the Halls live about a block away from the Main Street, so this year, they had us over for donuts and we got great parking! I love the home town feel to this parade- our elementary school walks in it and it was awesome to see the girls principal, their 2nd grade teacher and their new 3rd grade teacher! Makes me feel like we live in a small town which we really dont!
