Science Fair 2015

We have been doing Science Fair projects since the 1st grade with the kiddos and I am proud to say after all these years, the twins had it down- how to decorate the board, what info to include, etc..
Science Fair projects are always better with 2 people, so we paired everyone up and a few days before they were due, executed them. Thank goodness for the internet!
Maggie and Ari make a small battery out of a lemon. It worked to power a small Christmas light.

JJ and Soph got a scale and measured the grams of sugar in popular kid food items. They then had a form where you could guess which sugar item and which bag matched.
Orange juice was shocking!
Guess who helped Lij and Ella?
They got a WIFI router and covered it with different materials
to see which materials blocked the signal the best.

The night of the science Fair, the school brought in an organization
who set up different interactive experiments in the cafeteria.
It was a fun night!

Science Fair Experiments

All of our kiddos did a science experiment for the Science fair this year.
Ella and Elijah did colorful milk- super easy and cool.
Of course, we did the whole thing the night before the science fair:)
It's been a crazy month!
The twins and JJ did the Naked Egg- more time consuming but equally cool.
Unfortunately, on the way out the door to school, Sophia dropped the experiment on the sidewalk and the egg broke. But, JJ came to the rescue with an egg he had been working on.

Hopkins had some cool experiments around the building that the kids could do.
It was a fun night as always!

2nd Annual Science Fair

The twin-ers participated in their 2nd Science Fair with J.J. again this year.
They made ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE.
It was funny to watch their faces as they waited for results.

We experimented with adding different colors and different amounts of yeast.
They got to show their project at the Science Fair.
The school also had a traveling Planetarium come in- it was pretty cool.

2012- It cracks me up that J.J. is wearing the same outfit a year later!!!!
And the twins look so much older to me!

A First of Many More to Come!

The twins participated in our school science fair last week.
They worked on a project with their friend J.J.
sophia cracks me up with her peace sign

JJ's sister Alexa(in the purple)  is the pretty much the same exact age as Elijah- almost 4- she is WICKED tall!
He would come over after school and they glued letters, wrote their hypothesis, worked with carnations to see what liquids they would drink. It was a good first science fair project- easy and do-able by 2nd graders. The night of the science fair, they had a rocket making table and these cool air compressors that would launch the rockets. It was a FUN night:) We walked home around 8pm and the kids "flew" their rockets home all the way... it was so memorable.
