Happy 7th Birthday, Elijah!

We celebrated Elijah's 7th birthday with birthday breakfast,
swimming at Franklin Pool with his buddies and dinner at Los Dos.
It was a fun day and I am so grateful that God blessed our family with a boy:)

Grandpa got Elijah an electric scooter for his birthday!
He uses it everday and has gotten quite good at zipping around the neighborhood!

Water fun all summer long

 My crew just loves swimming!
We are so blessed to have a pool to use all summer long
that is rarely crowded when we go in the mornings.
I swear I have little fish for kids- they swim for hours and never get tired of it!

We also have a plethora of creeks and splash pads around town that we love to visit.

{Goodbye Summer Break}

I love summer! Its full of carefree days. Swimming long hours. Late dinners. Lazy evenings watching the kids ride their bikes up and down the street. Chatting with neighbors outside as the sun goes down. Waking up late and laying in bed snuggling kids. No schedules. No rush. Not many commitments.
I am sad to see summer go.
School starts on Monday.
Schedules resume.
Life picks up pace.
Violin lessons will start.
Homework will be due.
But today we hung on a little longer at our favorite place- the pool. With friends.
It was the perfect end to a great summer.

I am excited for what this school year will bring.
Seeing the kids grow in knowledge, in friendships, in Christ, in life is exciting to me!
I know we only have a handful of summers left and I cherish every one!

So until next year, goodbye summer! We will miss you!

Days 16 and 17- Mark gets ready to travel home/ Bear Creek Lake and sleepover fun

Thursday, I took the kids to Bear Creek Lake. Its the closest to a beach that we're gonna get.
The kids love playing in the sand and digging holes that they fill with water that turns to muddy water.
The plus side to that mess, is that I get to sit and relax for hours:)
Its been so hot here lately.

Thursday night, Mr. Cam and Ms. Ada had the kiddos over for dinner and they slept over. They went to a park, walked the dogs, ate ice cream, had waffles, went to the Cherry Creek Reservoir to swim, went to Wendy's for lunch. It was a pretty fun filled adventure! They said "Mr. Cam was so fun and full of surprises".  Then, Ashlie took the kiddos till dinnertime on Friday. They went swimming and played. So, I had a whole 24 hours to myself! It was so fun and very quiet and relaxing:) So blessed to have these people in my life!

Mark spent the day in Nairobi and then flew to London where they had a bus tour of the city. Cannot wait to see pictures of his adventures when he returns!
