"I now pronounce you, husband and wife"

Last Saturday, September 22nd, we were honored to witness our dear friends, Cameron and Ada, covenant together before God as husband and wife.
Cam and Ada came to our church last November as a dating couple and we were very excited to welcome them into our community group when it started up a little while later.
Over the course of many shared meals and great doctrinal discussions a bond of friendship in Christ was formed!
Cameron was new to the faith and it was (and continues to be) SO exciting to see the passion and hunger he has for the Word and his Savior. Ada is one classy and Christlike lady! She also has the craziest sense of humor and her stories will have you laughing in tears.
Over the course of three months and three books, Mark and I had the awesome opportunity to meet with them often for marital counseling and, let me tell you, it was wonderful for Mark and I to be challenged and rebuked and encouraged regarding our marriage as we looked to Scripture with Cam and Ada.
Their wedding was full of exaltation of Christ and I loved how they washed one another's feet during the service.
A picture of our Savior's humility and servants heart when he washed the feet of His disciples.

Ada walked down to Andy,Bryce and Rob singing/playing the song 10,000 Reasons...

"Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes"

This was Mark's first time officiating a wedding!

THANK YOU, Cameron and Ada, for letting us have a part of your very special day!
Love ya guys!

P.S. I have a very handsome husband- He looked SO good in his suit!!!

Mt. Falcon Birthday Hike

We celebrated, last Sunday the 23rd, grandma's birthday with a birthday hike on Mt. Falcon.
First we stopped off at The Blue Cow for some nourishment (aka lunch) and then it was hiking we went. It was a LONG hike too and the kiddos (overall) manned up and did great.

Can you spy a lizard?                                                    The kids did!

 Lijers is pretty fast!

Up the mountain to the super cool lookout and birthday cake!

The many faces of Ella. The "tebowing" was all her idea! This kid cracks me up!

Can you spy the great city of Denver?

The hike to the castle was so peaceful and serene.
I looked up the history of this "castle" and it seems that the Walker family wanted this to be the second "summer" white house for the presidents! You can read the whole story here if you are so inclined.
It is an amazing story.

It was a very wonderful day with wonderful family members! We are so blessed!
Happy Birthday Grandma!

Devils Head Hike

Last Saturday afternoon we headed out to go hiking and it was SO much fun! We drove about an hour to get there and it took a little over an hour to hike to the top.
Overall the kids did great- we got a little complaining from the twins on the way up- it was pretty hard!
But the HUGE rocks were a hit and so cool to scramble around on, that they soon forgot about the hardness of the hike.

When you get to the top of the mountain, you climb these red stairs (that are so steep and scary!)  and you are at the very tippy top of the rocks. They say that you can see 100 miles in every direction- the pictures do NOT do it justice! It was beautiful! God is SUCH an amazing Creator and I feel so blessed that He allows me to enjoy His wonders!

This cute old man works at the fire station and has for the last several decades. He has spotted well
over 20 forest fires and called them in- pretty cool. He lives at the top of the mountain 5 days a week in this awesome little cabin at the bottom of the red stairs. His name is Ranger Bill.

So thousands of ladybugs migrate to the top of the mountain and my kids were in awe.
