Science Fair Experiments

All of our kiddos did a science experiment for the Science fair this year.
Ella and Elijah did colorful milk- super easy and cool.
Of course, we did the whole thing the night before the science fair:)
It's been a crazy month!
The twins and JJ did the Naked Egg- more time consuming but equally cool.
Unfortunately, on the way out the door to school, Sophia dropped the experiment on the sidewalk and the egg broke. But, JJ came to the rescue with an egg he had been working on.

Hopkins had some cool experiments around the building that the kids could do.
It was a fun night as always!

Easter Fun

I cannot stop being creeped out by this picture:) We had a picnic/easter egg/BBQ with our community group and friends this past weekend. We found this creepy mask in a tree.

And we always color eggs- but I cut down on how many they got to do. Last year, I let them each color a dozen but I was SO sick of anything hard boiled egg related after trying to consume 48 dyed eggs. Not worth it. So, this year they got 6 each:)

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

Happy Easter 2014

Our annual egg scavenger hunt that daddy prepares every year. It's always a hit:)

We are very blessed!

Hiking at South Platte Park

We went on another hike during Spring Break. We were originally going to hike Devil's Head near Sedalia- but we got all the way up to the road to the trail head and it was closed! Apparently, it opens on April 1st. We didn't know that. So, we improvised and headed to Littleton and hiked around South Platte Park. It was gorgeous with lots of cool red rock formations.

We did 2 different trails for a total of 2 miles- Coyote Song Trail and Swallow Trail.

The swallow nests were so cool on the rocks.
The only bad thing is that the kids were dying to climb on the rocks and their are signs all over requesting that you stay on the trails and don't climb the rocks.
Other than that, it was a fun hike and we only got a little complaining about his legs hurting from Elijah. We are getting there:)
