The Heat is On

It has been HOT here in Denver this month of August- but we always find ways to cool down!
This past Sunday we enjoyed Grandma and Grandpas company for lunch and then splashing at a local fountain- we have SO many fountains here in the city- its crazy!
The kids sure do enjoy them!
This weekend they are calling for rain and storms.
Maybe it will cool it down some.
I am ready for fall.
Its coming- the nights are much cooler and in the morning,
you can just "smell" fall in the air!

One week down... and still smiling!

Pictures above were all captured on the first day of school at Hopkins Elementary.
My little second graders have made it a week and are still LOVING school.
Their teacher is Mrs. Sustr.
Its gonna be a good year.
I accepted the nomination for Hospitality Chair-
Basically, I have to plan the food and be a "greeter" for 5 schoolwide gatherings.
Cool new responsibility for which I am very grateful.
I am volunteering in 2nd grade 2 days a week- excited to start that in September.
Mark and I are attending the first PTO meeting in September.
Please pray that we continue to meet new people, develop friendships and share the Gospel!
Missional living is what its all about!

Lookin' Good- A Makeover and Giveaway!

Hi there loyal blog followers! Hope you like my new Blog look!
And to celebrate my blog makeover.. I am giving away a HOT item!

I have been wanting to try digital scrapbooking for a while now but have not researched it enough to find out what the best way to get started would be. I am tired of all the paper, stamps, ribbon, etc of scrapbooking the old fashion way. Plus, I have no room to leave all the stuff on my table for little fingers to start exploring! Digital scrapbooking seemed the perfect solution for the thousands of pictures I have sitting on my computer.

Well, last week I was contacted by My Memories- a digital scrapbook site. They wanted me to try their scrapbooking software and have a giveaway of their software on my blog! I jumped at the chance and cannot believe how EASY and FAST it is to use! I LOVE the pages I have created in the past week. The software gives you a lot of free paper, embellishments, fonts, etc to create pages! You can also find TONS of free digital scrapbook paper, font and embellishments online (I can email you some of my favorite sights) Here are some sample pages that I have done already!

The best thing is I can print these pages very easily and then put them in a scrapbook for my kids and friends to look through! No more mess and no more costly expense! My memories are preserved for all to see! I couldnt be more happy! And it was SO very simple! My Memories also lets you make photo cards and calendars- Cant wait for Christmas!

So, for you, my blog follower... I want to give you a chance to earn the software (which is $40) for FREE!

Here's all you have to do!

1. Leave a comment on this post telling me what you favorite digital paper pack is from  My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Store. Also, you MUST leave me your email address (and name) for me to contact you if you win!

2. Blog this give-away and let me know the link so I can check it out!

3. Facebook this giveaway!

4. Become a follower on my blog- just enter your email address on the right hand side of my blog under "Be My Loyal Friend" and hit submit and you are all set!

Make sure to tell me what numbers you completed so you can be entered that many times I'm giving you lots of chances!

The give-away will end at midnight, Saturday, August 20th, MST, and the winner will be announced sometime on Sunday morning. I will then email you a coupon code to use on the My Memories website

I also have a great coupon code to get $10 off the software and $10 off the purchase of anything in their store! I will post that when I announce the winner in case some of you want to buy the software or paper packs from My Memories

Good Luck everyone! And thanks for reading my blog! Love you all!

San Diego: Day 3

I promise.. I WILL finish these San Diego Pictures and posts soon:)
We started day 3 off downtown at The Hash House-
you MUST eat there if you are ever in the area!
The platters are HUGE (no exaggeration) and absolutely delicious!
This is the sage friend chicken over mashed potatoes with
eggs, bacon, spinach, tomatoes, and a chipotle cream sauce
Day 3 took us over the bridge to Coronado Island.
We spent the whole day there lounging in the sun. This beach was not crowded at ALL and we had a huge stretch basically all to ourselves. We went out pretty far and rode the waves which were huge! I think this was my favorite beach to go out in the water! They also had TONS of sand dollars at this beach- I found 4 WHOLE sand dollars! They were small but it was still pretty cool. This beach was were these HUGE army planes would land at a base right next to the beach. They were SO loud and I almost panicked the first time one landed. It honestly looked like it was going to land on us! We also saw marine guys jumping out of a plane with parachutes- it was really cool.

That night we headed to Olde Towne which basically looks like a street in Mexico- tons of street vendors and shops and TONS of delicious Mexican food!
Almost all the places made their own tortillas- they were delicious!

We then went back over to La Jolla to try to get some good sunset shots on the beach.
It was pretty cloudy but we did manage to grab a few beautiful pictures!

Sweet Summer Mornings

 I LOVE summer mornings!

Elijah runs around till 11 in his undies and usually has a stuffed animal in his hands-
today its Hello Kitty! Dont ask me! His hair is like a bush- I dont know what to do with it. I want it longer but its so fine. I may give him a mini mohawk! (my brothers new cut inspired me)
 It'll be sweet.

Sophia's hair looks like its been blown by a hurricane! She wants it as long as Tangled. It now hits her shoulder blades- its long. Sophia is such a helper to me in the morning. Its great.

Arianna would live in her pjs if allowed. She is definitely a relaxed, comfortable kinda girl!

Ella gets dressed as soon as she wakes up. Today she found a shirt of mine that looked like a dress to her so she's wearing it. whatever. Its summer!

Sadly, summer mornings must come to an end!
We will need to start getting ready earlier.. routines will go into effect.
Hair will be tamed.
Clothes will be put on!
I am ready!

I leave you with some SWEET pics of my garden tomatoes-
they are divine.and I have hundreds!!!
I pick them every Morning and I must say I so look forward to it!

We also have some new house guests which we check in on every morning
The twins got live bugs for their birthday and we have watched them go from caterpillars to butterflies- its been an amazing journey and soon they will be freed.

Enjoy your sweet summer mornings
for soon they will be memories!
