Getting Ready for CHRISTMAS!

I took the kids outside to get Christmas pictures for our
Christmas card this year and this is what we came up with!
I also did the black and white ones a few posts down for our Christmas card too.
I was able to get 100 FREE photocards from SeeHere.com,
so I paid absolutely nothing for our cards this year- YEAH!
Now to mail them all- that will cost a pretty penny:)
Stay tuned to see pictures of decorating our Christmas Tree!

One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians

The twins had a little Thanksgiving program with their K5 class the day before Thanksgiving!
They wanted to be Indians, so we made them their costumes the day before:)
Elijah and Ella dressed up too!

They sand and recited poems for about 20 minutes and then
each of them told what they were thankful for.
Sophia: "I am thankful for my family."

Arianna: "I am thankful for princesses."
Oh my!

Here is their whole class:

Grandma came to watch them and they were SO happy to have her there!

I am SO thankful for my 4 little indians!
They bring me SUCH JOY and laughter.
I am very proud of who they are and
I LOVE them more than words can express!~

God is GOOD. All the time. Because that is His nature.
Thank you, God, for your GOODNESS to me and my family...

Grand Prix

I find this post VERY humorous!
The twins are in Sparks at Little Bible Chapel
and are very much enjoying their year! Well, it was time for the annual
Grand Prix
where each kid gets a block of wood and wheels
and has to carve a car to race on Grand Prix night.
Mark and I had NEVER participated in one of these and
car designers we are not!
Thankfully, the chapel had a night where you could go
and get your wood cut, so we went and the twins both wanted mice.
So, the nice man carved a shape that was to resemble a mouse.
We took them home, painted them pink
(didnt you know mice are pink?)
and added eyes, ears and a tail.
The night of the race was upon us.

We watched as the pink mice were lined up on the track
with 2 other cars and were raced 4 times.
As you can see in the above picture,
the pink mice made it to the middle of the track and stopped.
They were pushed the rest of the way to the time thingy!
Hilarious!
Every time, the same result.
The girls didnt seem to care- one of the leaders told them that
the mice wanted everyone to see how cute they were
so they stopped in the middle to show off!

Thank goodness for participation ribbons!
Next year, we'll add weights.

Car Trouble

I must first preface this post with the fact that I am SO VERY thankful that overall we have put NO work into our van in the past 2, almost 3 yrs! Isnt God amazing! He has allowed that van to run smoothly for the years we were struggling to stay afloat!
And now, that God is continuing to provide, He allowed car trouble.
It just amazes me-
God is SO good and always has been
and always will be, even amidst car trouble!
Now the story- on Monday I was driving to pick up the twins and I looked down and the thermostat was at High and the heat was not working (mind you it was COLD that day)
I did not have my cell phone and panicked, so I got off C470 and went to a Brakes Plus. 2 hours later, Mark picked me and the babies up, we picked up the girls and crammed into the red car and prayed we would not get pulled over since 4 kiddos were squished in the back seat!
We went back to get the van and they told me there was nothing wrong- I drove it home and it was doing the same thing as that afternoon- can you believe it!
Well, I then called my step-dad who is a human car handbook and he said it sounded like the thermostat, so I called Brakes Plus to see what that would cost and they said $300. Tim said mark could probably do it himself, so he tried and $20 and one hour later it was done!
I was SO proud of Mark!
But unfortunately, it did not work. Now we needed help- so Mark asked around at Valor and found a Christian mechanic who doesnt rip people off, so we are hoping to have more questions answered this weekend. In the meanwhile, I have MANY thank you's to friends who have helped us in transporting our twins from school- JOY and KRISTA- THANK YOU!
I have been stuck at home all week which is quite different for me-
I am used to being on the go!
But it has been nice to slow down and relax more!
So, please pray that this guy can find the problem and that it will not be extremely expensive!
God is GOOD no matter what the verdict will be...

New Venture...

I've started making FONDANT cakes and really enjoy it!
This was my first one and I found most of the tips and recipe for fondant HERE
I got paid to make this cake, so I am thinking of trying to advertise more and start my own little business. I think people would buy them since it does take time to make and it is a bit tricky to get it just right! It really was fun to make!

Sweet Land of Liberty

Happy Veteran's Day!
thank you to all the men and women
who HAVE served our country,
who ARE serving our country,
and who have DIED serving our country...
we are grateful
and thankful to experience freedom
because of you all.
My twins are going on their first field trip of their young lives today. They are attending a Veterans day memorial at a park in Littleton. They are excited to give the card they made to a veteran. Arianna told me she wants to give it to a girl veteran! Then they will have lunch in the park and play. They told me they didnt want me to come...sniff... they are growing up!

One Fine Day

On evenings when I do not have to work at Gymboree,
our family tries to get outside when Mark comes home from work for a nice walk.
The weather has been in the high 70's lately, so-
perfect walking conditions!
I LOVE our walks because it gives Mark and I
a chance to really talk while the kids explore the woods:)

The BEST Apple Crisp!

I have very fond memories of coming home from school and smelling my moms apple crisp baking in the oven. It was so good and brings back such great memories of childhood.
I have tried to duplicate that taste with several apple crisp recipes and none have been good enough, until last week. I was reading my friend Beths blog and she had a post on a great apple crisp recipe so I tried it and OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was the bomb!
I ate 3/4 of the pan in one night (honestly!)
On a side note, I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible stomach pains.
I wont do that again!
But the crisp was amazing and I've made it 2 times since-
one for a church function where it got rave reviews!
So check it out- its worth the time to make it!!!

Candy Fun*****

Every year we go to Grandma and Grandpas for dinner and then some trick or treating!
They live in a development that has houses very close together and is very safe.
and they give out GREAT candy!

It amazed me how very quickly Elijah caught on to what was happening.
He had a death grip on his basket because he knew what was being put inside!
If someone forgot to put candy in his basket he would point and grunt at them!
Hilarious!

Grandpa helped us with the kiddos while Grandma handed out candy back at their house!
We went out for about an hour and a half and got 3 FULL baskets and one 1/2 full (Elijahs)
We are set in the candy department for months:)

All night, Arianna was complaining of a headache and then just as we
pulled out of the driveway to go home, Arianna threw up!
(this is the first time I have ever seen her throw up in her 5 yrs of life!)
I was worried it was the flu, but this morning I am pretty sure she just ate
TOO MUCH CANDY!
